We're building a more secure future for the Burwell School Historic Site through the annual "Friends of the Burwell School" campaign and invite you to join our community of supporters.  All donations of ANY amount are gratefully received; membership as a Friend starts at $45.

The annual Friends of the Burwell School campaign is an important way to support the Burwell School and to extand our community, and by renewing your donation annually you will help to keep this historic place going strong for the 4,500 visitors who participate in programs, tours, and events, and for the many who admire the School as they drive or walk by and wonder "what's the story of this place?"

When you join the Friends of the Burwell School, 100% of your donation goes to support the site.   Preservation. Education. Community Events.  Research.

An annual reception for Friends and Burwell Volunteers;

An annual online   Newsletter exclusively for Friends and Volunteers;

Student : no enrollment asked for those under 18, or students. Email us at director@burwellschool.org to request a student membership and we'll get you signed up.  

 

Friend -- $45  basic membership.  We'll send you a souvenir postcard of this watercolor of the School.

 

 

Scholar --  $75 or greater. Donors at this level or greater will receive a handsome seasonal notecard  with envelope of the School.

 

 

Fellow -- donors of $150 or greater -  will receive a copy of Behind the Scenes, or, Thirty Years a Slave and Four Years in the White House by Elizabeth Keckly, from Eno Publishers.

 

 

Patron -- Donors of at least $350 will receive as our thank-you gift a handsome wooden shelf ornament of the Burwell School by the Cat's Meow collectibles company.

 

 

Dean -- donors at the $500 level or above -- will receive a copy of Hidden Hillsborough , a beautiful 2017 book from Eno Publishers featuring photos and beautifully written articles on hidden elements of historic places and gardens in Hillsborough, NC, with beautiful photographs by Elizabeth Matheson.

NOTE: you will receive an acknowledgement at the end of the process from the Historic Hillsborough Commission , the non-profit, 501c3 organizaton established in 1963, whose sole focus is the preservation and support of the Burwell School for the betterment of the community.   The members of the Commission contribute personal resources and donate over 2,000 hours annually to the site. Remember, 100% of your donation goes directly to support the Burwell School.
